Akhmedova Ballet Academy (ABA) has been providing world-class Vaganova ballet training since 2011, equipping its dancers to join the ranks of professional companies. ABA’s exceptional faculty provide a nurturing environment where students thrive as both dancers and individuals. No matter what educational or career path our students choose, our training will instill in them the work-ethic and communication and collaborative skills necessary for producing successful leaders and citizens, committed to community, diversity and values-driven pursuits.

Year-round pre-professional training and summer intensives in Classical Vaganova ballet technique and repertoire, strength-training, opportunities to participate in YAGP and other national and international dance competitions and small class sizes to ensure individualized attention for students offer ABA dancers a level of preparation and instruction unparalleled in the D.C.-Metropolitan area. Akhmedova Ballet Academy’s studio facility is nestled in the heart of Silver Spring, Maryland’s bustling Arts and Entertainment District. ABA is neighbored by the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center, AFI Silver Theatre, the Fillmore, Round House Theater and the Levine School of Music.

All amenities and public transportation (Metro Red Line, Metrobus, MARC Train, Ride-On) are around the corner from ABA’s studio. Downtown Washington, D.C. is seven miles from the studio, and can be accessed by car or public transportation.

Akhmedova Ballet Academy features three fully equipped studios with state-of-the-art Harlequin sprung floors, a parent lounge and workspace, kitchen, a workout room and a designated study room with free Wi-Fi to help support students in their academic pursuits.
